ЖИВОПИСНІ ТЕРАКОТОВІ МЕТОПИ З ХРАМУ АПОЛЛОНА (ХРАМ С) У ТЕРМОСІ (ІКОНОГРАФІЧНИЙ ТА ІКОНОЛОГІЧНИЙ АСПЕКТИ)

Мета статті – проаналізувати основні інтерпретації зображень на живописних теракотових метопах, виявлених у храмі Аполлона (Храм С) у Термосі (Етолія). Методи дослідження. У процесі написання статті використано комплексний підхід, який охоплює як традиційні загальнонаукові методи (аналітичний, історіографічний, історико-культурологічний, системно- порівняльний), так і спеціальні (іконографічний, іконологічний, образно-стилістичний та композиційного аналізу). Комплексний дослідницький підхід дозволяє визначити головні іконографічні та іконологічні особливості теракотових живописних метоп останньої третини VII ст. до н. е., а також детальніше охарактеризувати загальний розвиток архаїчного живопису у Стародавній Елладі та живописне оздоблення перших храмів. Результати дослідження. Проведений аналіз свідчить, що метопи прикрашено різними міфологічними сценами, в яких головні персонажі не повторюються і, як правило, не пов’язані між собою за змістом. Це одно-, дво- та трифігурні композиції, інтерпретації яких є як безумовно автентичними – завдяки іконографічним ознакам і написам, що ідентифікують головних персонажів, – так і дискусійними. Окремі сцени, ймовірно, відображають міфи, пов’язані з Етолією. Також у сценах простежується зв’язок із ритуалами переходу до дорослого життя, нав’язування божественної справедливості людській гордині, відтворення руйнівної сили демонів, готовності до спокути тощо. Стилістично метопи засвідчують зв’язок з репертуаром, поширеним у мистецтві Коринфа, Аргоса, Східного Пелопоннесу. Висновки. На основі аналізу наукових досліджень західних учених доведено, що інтерпретація зображень на метопах тісно пов’язана з дискусією щодо атрибуції храму та його титулярного божества. Отримані результати можуть сприяти подальшому вивченню іконографії та іконології давньоелл інських міфологічних персонажів, зокрема аналізу джерел щодо їхнього виникнення.
