STRATEGIES AND INSTITUTIONAL FRAMEWORKS OF ARTISTIC REPRESENTATION OF INSTALLATION IN UKRAINE AT THE TURN OF THE 20TH – 21ST CENTURIES

The aim of the article is to investigate the strategies of artistic representation of installations and to determine the role of institutional frameworks in shaping these strategies within the context of Ukrainian contemporary art. The research methodology is based on a combination of general scientific and art historical approaches, including theoretical analysis of representation concepts, the comparative method, and the typological analysis of artistic practices. Research results. The study analyzes key approaches to the notion of artistic representation and clarifies the definition of «strategies of artistic representation of installation» as a system of artistic, spatial, and communicative techniques that determine how a work interacts with the viewer and the space. The author proposes a typology of representation strategies based on the criteria of exhibition process, temporality, and the viewer’s position. Furthermore, the study highlights the influence of institutional frameworks – museum, gallery, and exhibition spaces – on the formation of installation representation strategies within the Ukrainian art context. Conclusions. The results of this research can be utilized in further art history studies of contemporary art, as well as in the teaching of installation theory and curatorial practices. The novelty of the research lies in the application of theoretical approaches to representation for the analysis of Ukrainian installation art and in identifying the specific features of the formation of representation strategies within the national arti stic context.
