Consideration of Complaints Regarding Violations of Academic Integrity and Publication Ethics
The editorial board of the scientific journal "Bulletin of the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture" adheres to the principles of academic integrity, transparency of editorial processes and international standards of publication ethics. The complaint review procedure is aimed at ensuring an objective and impartial response to possible violations of ethical norms during the preparation, review and publication of scientific materials.
Grounds for filing a complaint
Complaints may be filed in cases of possible violations of academic integrity and publication ethics, including:
- plagiarism, self-plagiarism or improper citation;
- fabrication or falsification of research results;
- improper attribution;
- undeclared conflict of interest;
- violation of the principles of objective and confidential review;
- duplicate or republished;
- other violations of ethical standards of scientific publishing.
Filing a complaint
The complaint is submitted to the editorial office of the journal in writing to the e-mail address bulletin.naoma@gmail.com and must contain:
- last name, first name of the applicant (if available);
- description of the nature of the violation;
- link to the relevant publication or manuscript;
- justification and, if possible, materials confirming the violation.
Anonymous appeals may be considered by the editorial staff if there is sufficient evidence of a possible violation.
Procedure for considering a complaint
The complaint is considered in several stages: Initial assessment, Preliminary investigation, Request for clarification, Decision-making.
Possible editorial decisions
Based on the results of the complaint review, the editorial team may:
- reject the complaint in the absence of a violation;
- request corrections or clarifications to the article;
- publish a correction, refutation or editorial notice;
- withdraw the article;
- refuse further publication to the author(s) in the journal;
- notify the authors' institution or other competent authorities (in case of significant violations).
Principles of Review
The editorial team ensures:
- impartiality and objectivity of the review;
- confidentiality of all parties to the process;
- absence of discrimination;
- compliance with international recommendations on publication ethics.
Consideration period
Complaints are generally considered within 30 calendar days of receipt. In complex cases, the deadline may be extended with notice to the applicant.
