Abstract. The article explores the methodological foundations and conceptual-categorical framework of the study of Ukraine’s artistic and industrial art, which is viewed as a unique phenomenon at the intersection of artistic creativity and industrial production. The aim of the study is to offer suggestions for improving the categorical and conceptual framework used in the research of Ukraine's decorative and applied arts. The study employs general scientific methods of cognition, including analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalization, and a systematic approach. The findings indicate that artistic and industrial art in Ukraine constitutes an independent category that integrates aesthetic potential with technological capabilities. The study emphasizes the distinctions between artistic and industrial art and design: the former focuses on creating unique objects with profound cultural significance, while the latter is geared toward mass production with an emphasis on functional characteristics. The professional composition of specialists involved in the creation of artistic and industrial objects is examined, along with key methodological approaches to their analysis. The research highlights that artistic and industrial art is distinguished by authorial techniques, conceptual expressiveness, and technological experimentation. A significant factor is its connection with craft traditions, which is gradually diminishing in design due to its orientation toward technological progress. The study investigates the key stages in the creation of artistic and industrial objects, from conceptual development to the presentation of the final product. The quality assessment of such objects is based on expert analysis, consumer evaluations, and compliance with contemporary artistic and technical standards. The practical significance of the study lies in defining methodological principles for evaluating artistic and industrial art and developing criteria for its further analysis in the context of contemporary art and design.
