TYPOLOGY OF FUNCTIONAL AND SPATIAL ORGANIZATION OF SCHOOL BOARDING FACILITIES

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to develop and substantiate a typology of the functional and spatial organization of school boarding facilities in the context of current challenges facing Ukraine’s educational system. Methods. The study employs typological analysis, comparative analysis of both design projects and built facilities in Ukraine and abroad, the method of morphological generalization, a systemic approach to the classification of architectural and planning solutions, and graphic modeling. Results. The study analyzes the object on five levels: as a component of the school system, as an element of a school complex, as a part of the urban structure, as a system of functional zones, and at the level of spatial planning organization. Conclusions. The proposed typology and innovative architectural and planning solutions provide a systematic framework for structuring the design of school boarding facilities and serve as a tool for further research into their spatial organization and for the practical implementation of modern student accommodation formats.
