ARTISTIC VISIONS OF NATALIA NIKOLAYCHUK – SYNCRETISM, CONCEPTS AND ARTISTIC-AESTHETIC PRINCIPLES

Abstract

The purpose of the study – to study and systematize the significant creative heritage of N. Nikolaychuk, which consists of etchings, linocuts, monotypes, watercolors, oil paintings, as well as to determine the artist’s worldview ideas and concepts, artistic and figurative features of her works. Results. The Ukrainian original artist has her own handwriting, creative method, and peculiar manner that distinguishes her from other artists. In her work, the artist touches upon important topics of existential and ontological content. An important place in the artist’s work is occupied by the sacred image of the Woman, which manifests itself in different ways. N. Nikolaychuk’s artistic practice is characterized by a large repertoire of genres and themes (ritual, religious, symbolic, landscape, still lifes), polyphony of styles. Research methods. The study used historical and biographical methods to outline the chronological boundaries; with the help of interpretation, analytical description and figurative and stylistic analysis, the artist’s works were studied and the peculiarities of their compositional structure were determined; the method of classification and generalization was used to organize the works by techniques, themes, genres. Conclusions. The creative work of the People’s Artist N. Nikolaychuk demonstrates the versatility of her talent, mastery of graphic and painting techniques, a deep understanding of the role of art for the spiritual transformation of man and artistic and aesthetic perception of the world. The artist appeals to different styles and trends, national sources to realize her own ideas.
