NEED TO STUDY THE BASICS OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND COPYRIGHT IN ART INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract

Abstract. The third millennium is called the era of intellectual property. How to preserve and multiply intellectual property is one of the most important tasks for the state and the creative individual. The state of intellectual property protection in Ukraine today is far from satisfactory. Therefore, there is a necessity to conduct further scientific research aimed at determining the place of such academic disciplines as intellectual property, copyright in the system of higher education of Ukraine and to improve national legislation in accordance with the strategy of Ukraine’s integration into the European Union (EU). In this context, the development of intellectual property and copyright as an educational discipline and a necessary component of the professional training of artists is important. The purpose of the article is to justify the need to study the basics of intellectual property and copyright by students who are getting an art education, in particular, artists, in the context of reforming the system of education and science and the development of the creative industry. Research methods: the basis of the research methodology of the chosen problem is a systematic approach, as well as dialectical, formal-logical, structural-functional and other general scientific research methods. Main results and conclusions. The study of intellectual property and copyright by artists will contribute to the improvement of their creative activity, the ability to evaluate their results and, in a case of necessary, to carry out protection personal non-property and property rights on the results of intellectual creative activity. Obtaining relevant knowledge in the field of intellectual property will significantly increase the culture of respect for intellectual property rights and its protection. It is fundamentally important to understand that knowledge of the basics of intellectual property and copyright must become the necessary link that will combine creative skills, scientific knowledge that artists acquire during higher education, with the dynamics of changes in social life, the development of the creative industry, which will contribute to the solution of specific practical tasks within the scope of the artists’ profe ssional activities.
