Abstract. The purpose of this article is to study the main principles of designing medical facilities in foreign countries, to analyze the main types of architectural design principles, to determine the level of influence in modern conditions of flexibility, inclusiveness and integration as the basic principles of designing medical facilities on their architectural and planning solutions. Methods. The research is based on methods of observation and comparison, analysis of architectural objects, which made it possible to reveal the influence of design principles on the structure of medical institutions. Results. The article, based on foreign experience, examines modern principles of design in the architectural field of health care institutions, recognizes their influence on the design of a specific medical institution, explores factors that affect the architectural planning of medical institutions, emphasizes the dependence of architectural design solutions of health care institutions on their purpose, scope of application, type and location. Conclusions. The conducted study of the basic principles of architectural planning of medical institutions allows us to single out three main principles of designing health care institutions: flexibility, inclusiveness and integration. The specified principles reflect modern trends in the development of medicine (adaptability to transformations, patient orientation, comprehensiveness in the provision of medical services) and ensure the effectiveness of the future functioning of a specific medical institution designed with them in mind. At the same time, each project is an independent and unique architectural solution of a health care facility building.
